Istria – the largest Croatian peninsula, situated in the northern most part of the coast is often called “Terra Magica”. The wonderful combination of colours – green landscape, red earth and blue see and sky, make amazing combination.
Morning drive from Zagreb (on highway and semi-highway) to the small town of Fažana. The tourist boat takes you to Brijuni Island National Park. The Park consists of 14 islands and islets that stretch along western coast of Istria and cover 33.9km2 of land and see area. The largest islands are Veliki Brijun (25.9km) and Mali Brijun (8.3km).
The main characteristic of the Brijuni archipelago is the extraordinary biological diversity given thanks to its geographical location. Veliki Brijun was cultivated into a harmonious landscape of meadows and parks and apart from rich remnants of architectural heritage has preserved vegetation types typical for the western Istrian climate. The sea area forms 80% of the protected area of the Park and has almost all the elements of the marine eco-system of the Adriatic.
The sightseeing tour, including free time lasts approximately 4 hours and includes: a drive in a tourist train, visit to the remains of the Roman villa rustica from the I century B.C. in the bay of Verige; visit to the safari park which takes care of zebra, Somali sheep, zebu (the holy east Indian humped ox), dromedary, llama and elephant. The tour also includes visits to the Church of St. Germain with permanent exhibition of fresco-copies and Glagolitic writings from Istria. After the tour,  short boat ride back to the land and return transfer to Zagreb.
